Todos Santos Retreat Digest (6/11/26)

Another week has passed in our coastal oasis of Todos Santos and as usual, there’s a lot to unpack. The days here have been warming up, giving us that familiar feeling that summer is just around the corner. Not that it’s sweltering, mind you, but you can feel the heat gradually creeping in. Perfect for those of us who like to enjoy the outdoors without breaking too much of a sweat.

Speaking of the outdoors, the sea turtles are back in action. If you’re lucky, you might spot one or two on Punta Lobos beach, going about their business, oblivious to our human world. It’s a reminder of the simple, raw beauty of nature that we often take for granted.

There’s a different kind of beauty brewing in the cultural center though. A new art exhibit has opened up, featuring works from local artists. It’s a quiet affair, no grand launches or extravagant parties, but there’s something refreshing about that. It allows the art to speak for itself and for us to appreciate it without any distractions.

In the realm of the less-quiet, it seems like the music scene in Todos Santos is picking up again. There are whispers of a few gigs happening down at Calle Benito Juárez. Nothing too big or fancy, just a few local musicians playing their hearts out. It’s a small reminder that despite the ebb and flow of life, the rhythm of this town never really stops.

Over in Pescadero, there’s been some interesting activity too. Apparently, a group of botanists have been spotted around the area. Word has it they’re working on a conservation project of some sort. It’s always heartening to see individuals dedicated to preserving the natural richness of our surroundings.

On a different note, if you’re looking for a new place to explore, why not take a drive to Cerritos? The sea there has been particularly inviting lately, perfect for a quick dip or a leisurely swim. If you’re not up for getting wet, the beach is just as good for a peaceful walk or a quiet afternoon with a good book.

Lastly, on the farming front, the local market has been teeming with fresh produce. It’s always a sight to see the fruits (and vegetables) of our local farmers’ labor. Makes you appreciate the simple, homegrown lifestyle we have here.

So, as we wrap up another week in Todos Santos, we’re reminded that life here is not about grand events or big changes. It’s about appreciating the simple shifts in the weather, the quiet progress in our local community, and the steady rhythm of life. It’s about embracing the tranquility of our Todos Santos retreat and appreciating the beauty in the mundane.

Until next week, stay safe and soak up the sunshine.
